The 'Beyond Today Development' situated @ Victor Harbor SA, recently being awarded the UDIA Award for environmental Excellence features Aerogel super-insulation.
The official opening of Beyond's display village was opened by Federal Labour member Mark Butler MP & the Minister for Urban Development & Planning Hon Paul Holloway.
Aerogels Australia worked closely with Dr Martin Belusko from the Institute of Sustainable Systems to provide a superior thermal performance with the site's Hydronic heating system.
The issue posed by Margit Wright - Designer, was to provide a answer to thermal bridging issues in the slab.
Aerogels Australia provided the 'SPACELOFT' 10mm Aerogel blanket as an in-slab application, providing the highest thermal protection in the market. Spaceloft's performance was not reduced due to compression or moisture & has a service life of 40+ years with only a 2% reduction of performance over the life of the build.
The results are significant savings of energy demand & home comfort.
